"Thanks Mom.... You've ruined my whole life!!!!"

I know I am not dedicated enough to this blog but I refuse to give it up! I am going to keep going as long as I can remember!

We have had such an awesome summer! We went to the beach with great friends and the girls had a wonderful time. We have had a million pool parties and Addison is still doing gymnastics every Monday!
This coming Saturday is Schlitterbaun and next weekend is the lake with our Aunties!
Kirstynn had a speech therapist come and review her development cause I was still concerned about her speech. They did a full 2 hours of testing and it turns out she's just fine. She's actually a few months ahead.
I guess sometimes its hard to know milestones when she is up against a non-stop talker like her sister. Either way she is saying up to 3 and 4 word sentences now and even though she is a late talker, she can work an iphone like a champ!
Speaking of my attitude Addison, I have a funny little story I wanted to post so I remember it as she grows older. I thought I would honestly have a lot more time before this day and actually thought it would hurt a lot more.

Addison was screaming and playing with her sister and just overall being VERY loud. Her Dad and I both asked her to use an "inside" voice and she looked at me with a smirk and said "whatever". Well, naturally I walked her little butt to the corner where time-out is and came back into the living room. Thomas and I were sitting there when all the sudden, out of the silence, I hear...

" Thanks Mom.... You've ruined my whole life!!!!"

Yes. At the young age of 4 because of timeout, I ruined my daughter's life.
And it didn't hurt my feelings little bit. :)
Thomas and I (because she couldn't see us) giggled to ourselves and I felt a little sense of pride.
Hey, it takes skill to ruin someone's life that fast.

Flip Flop gone wrong

So, last night the tooth fairy showed up again!  She is not welcome for a LONG time!

2 teeth before she turns 5 years old????
I cannot handle it.  Stop growing Addison!!  Please stop growing.

On a happier note, my sweet Adi drew me a beautiful picture while we were getting our toenails done this weekend.  I had to keep it and definitely had to post it (much to the dismay of my mother) because I know Addison will appreciate it when she is older and reading through this thing.

Flip Flop gone wrong.. or rather... oh so right.  ;-)

School's out for Summer!

So, school's out for summer but not for me!

My girls are nuts!
Addison is 4 years old and won't be 5 until October.  She lost her first tooth last week!!! What the..???

I freaked out and called the doctor immediately because I thought for sure we did something wrong.  BUT come to find out, she's normal.  Just on the early side of normal.
4 year olds should not have their teeth fall out for this reason:

We got all ready for bed and wrapped up her tooth to put under her pillow and then she starts asking questions.
- "Mommy, how does the tooth fairy get in here?"
- "Will she come when I'm sleeping or awake?"
- "What does she look like?"

I could hear the insecurity growing.  And honestly, who could blame her?
I'd be nervous too if I had a tooth-stealing person with wings breaking into my house just to leave me a dollar.
So, we ended up leaving it downstairs on the table instead.  $1 caused all kinds of smiles the next day!
As long as she stayed downstairs.

Soccer is over ~ they didn't win a single game but won lots of friends....
Kirstynn learned to jump this week and that is all she does.  I have a feeling this one is going to be full of broken bones.

Just call me "Soccer mom"

So, I always used to laugh about the fact that one day I will be a "soccer mom". Signing up for snacks for a game, making spirit signs, driving a minivan.....

That day has come. Well, part of it anyway. I refuse to get the minivan.

When the girls were first born, I used to pray for a day out of the house. Between naps, feedings, bathroom breaks etc - there was just no point in leaving. It ended up being way more trouble than it was worth.

Well, those days are definitely a thing of the past.

Let me describe my week. Please keep in mind that I work 40+ hours a week in my "other" job.

Monday nights are gymnastics for Addison. So after working from 8am until 5pm, I jump in my car and get home as fast as I can to get Addison dressed, fed and back into the car by 5:45pm to be at the gym by 6:15pm. Then I wait for an hour and rush back to get Addison ready for bed.

I usually sit down FINALLY at 8pm.

Tuesday of this week was actually fun because we went out to eat as a family but again - wasn't home and done until after 8pm because of bath time.
Wednesday is now soccer practice for Addison. Hence, the soccer mom statement. It's so fun but man, one more evening of peace turned into chaos. Last night.... again... not home until after 8pm.
Tonight and tomorrow we may just have a break but we have birthday parties on Saturday and a huge family gathering on Sunday for Easter.
I wouldn't change a thing but man, those days of never leaving the house seem so far away. So, so far away.

Blog Award

So, my sister-in-law, Allison, gave me this little blog award. This means that I need to share 6 things that I am a Master at. And I'll name 6 people to share their master skills (if they want to play along)...

1. Master of Event Planning - This has been my forte since high school.  If people wanted to have a party or pep rally etc, they came to me.  I love sending invites, bugging people weekly (and sometimes daily) on reasons why they HAVE to come, and then being in charge during the event to make sure that everyone is having the best time and things stay on schedule!  Even now at 30, when it comes to my own birthday parties, mommy play dates and potlucks at work - this is where I shine!

2. Master of Loving - I can honestly say that I cannot imagine anyone who loves more than me.  In fact, I get made fun of  because EVERY song is my FAVORITE...  every restaurant is the BEST, and of course, I cannot get enough of cuddling and over-kissing my family.  I try hard to make people feel like they are cared for and that I appreciate all the things (big or small) in my life.  I always try for more but am satisfied and LOVE what I have now.

3.Master of Flirting - So, some people may not see this as a positive, but when I was named Biggest Flirt out of 646 people in my senior class, I took it as a compliment.  I make people feel special.  I know how to make eye contact.  I know how to make subtle touches in conversation.  I know how to make myself generally interested in EVERY meeting I have.  This should not be confused with being disrespectful to my husband.  I am far from that.  I just have a gift to make people feel like I generally like being around them.

4. Master of Interviewing -  I am proud to say that I have yet in my lifetime to ever apply and interview for a job I didn't get.  I am best under pressure.  I understand the importance of preparing and listening.  I know how to ask for the job. I am also not ashamed to toot my own horn and say that on more than one occassion, I have been told that I was the best interview that they ever had.

5. Master of Internet searches - You need the best flight deal?  You need to know how they make Coke black? You want to know what that little red spot on your little toe is...?  No problem!!  I will find it.  And quickly.  I understand how the searches work.  I understand what to look for.  And if there was a job that paid me to do this, it would just possibly be my dream job.

6. Master of Loading the Dishwasher - So, I have been lucky in finding a spouse who not only is an amazing cook, but also loves doing it.  But of course, that leaves me with the other half of the evening duties -  the dishes.  Now that I have taken to this, it has become something that I am proud of.  I know how to load the dishwasher so that I can get the most in there while still getting them extremely clean.  It sounds silly, but since I cannot cook (and shouldn't because I'm just terrible) - it's important that I make my chore something perfected...  just as my husband has with the meal.

Okay, well, I now give the master blog award to: (only if you want to play!)

1. Ivy Oliver

2. Kim Jay Everyday

3. WendySurf

4. Danni Springfield

5. Jeni Gregory

6. Melissa White (I know you have already been named but now you can really feel the pressure!)

Selfish attention-grabbing brat

Ok, go ahead and say it with me... out loud - "Jennifer sucks"...

I was so good for a long time at keeping up with my blog but since I made it private, I haven't been nearly as motivated to write in it.
Does that say selfish attention-grabbing brat or what???
Hey, at least I can admit it.

But I do cherish this little site.  It helps me keep up with the moments in my babies lives (and my own for that matter) -
So, I think I am going to back pedal and "un-private" it.
I'll just have to make sure I keep any comments that could potentially get me fired or assassinated to myself...

This first post, since it's kind of a catch-up one, is going to be straight family focused.

What's new with Addison?
- Is writing her name all by herself in addition to writing Nana, Dad, Mom and Stop.
- knows to call 911 if there is an emergency
- is obsessed with Icarly and Hannah Montana shows
-changes clothes at least 5 times a day and is in a crazy "layering" phase

What's new with Kirstynn?
- She is finally putting her words together and her vocabulary is growing by the day.  Her favorite words right now are Addison, Spongebob and My Mommy
- She started in Addison's preschool and loves giving her sister kisses through the fence during recess
-is the biggest animal lover and is constantly kisses them on the lips, much to my dismay
- Had her first and hopefully ONLY night terror a few weeks back and actually scared us enough to call 911 in the middle of the night

What's new with Thomas and I?
- We are taking a family trip to Port Aransas in May for 5 days with 2 other couples
- We are planning an adult only vacation to London in September
- We are still absolutely in love and thankful for our family.

More fun and potentially FUNNY posts to come soon!!!
